Magali Delmas, Affiliated Faculty, Associate Professor (UCLA) – Strategic ManagementMagali Delmas examines the interactions between business strategies and public policies as they relate to the natural environment. She analyzes how various forms of regulation affect or elicit organizational change, as well as how business firms influence regulations, and she frequently investigates what drives the adoption and diffusion of innovative business practices. Through research that builds on both transaction economics and institutional theory, she is developing a theory intended to explain how voluntary environmental programs and standards should be designed to increase private and public gain, and to determine in which institutional context these programs should be implemented. Interested in globalization, Professor Delmas studies alliances, voluntary environmental agreements between firms and regulatory agencies, and international environmental management standards, such as ISO 14001. |
