Corporate & Foundation Giving

The Bren School’s Corporate & Foundation Partners Program is the means through which the Bren School forms mutually beneficial alliances with local and national corporations and organizations that share our commitment to sustainable enterprise, leading-edge research, and educational programs of preeminent quality. Through this program, the Bren School facilitates many high-level introductions to leaders across an array of industries and provides regular access to the School’s administrative team, faculty, and students. Through the program, partners are included in a multitude of opportunities free of charge, including guest lectures, workshops, regional receptions, and the annual Corporate & Foundation Partners Summit.

Corporate Summit and Networking Opportunities: The Annual Corporate & Foundation Partners Summit provides executives from partner organizations with the opportunity to convene in a non-partisan environment to discuss needs, challenges and strategies affecting their industries. Networking across business sectors is extremely rare, however it is vital because solutions to environmental problems often span industries, disciplines, and jurisdictions. See the agendas for previous summits. Additionally, throughout the year, Corporate & Foundation Partners are invited to attend workshops, colloquia, regional receptions, the Dean's Breakfast Club, and other Bren hosted events.

Summer Internships: The Bren School places a strong emphasis on professional experience and expects all MESM students to complete internships between their first and second year of study. National or international summer internships provide an important opportunity for students to apply what they have learned in the classroom, to gain valuable work experience, and to make key contacts in the field. These internships are an excellent way for a company to gain some experience with a prospective new employee before making a job offer. More about Summer Internships.

Full-time Employment of Bren Graduates: The Bren School is committed to working closely with employers throughout the world to place our students in leadership positions, where they can have an important impact. Bren’s Career Development Program provides a number of services that allow Corporate & Foundation Partners to engage with Bren students and develop mutually beneficial working relationships with them. Among these services are job postings, internships, and volunteer positions. More about employing Bren graduates.

Presentations to Students: To provide students with the most up-to-date information on environmental careers, job-search skills, and employment trends, employers are invited to visit the school to talk with students about careers, professional skills, internships, full/part time positions, and job search skills.

Faculty Consulting: A company can independently engage individual Bren faculty to perform specific consulting. The faculty member negotiates fees, services, and scope of work directly with the company. We are pleased to assist you in setting up one-on-one or small-group meetings with our faculty so that you might better understand their areas of research and expertise. See a list of our faculty and their bios.

Group Projects: The Bren School invites any agency, company, organization, or individual that has an environmental problem to submit a proposal for a Group Project. This is a valuable opportunity to have a group of talented master's students take on the problem and make recommendations to address it. The Bren School will help connect you, as Partner, to faculty and/or students who might provide feedback on the proposal and, in some cases, assist in writing a proposal. More about Group Projects.

We are pleased to acknowledge our Corporate & Foundation Partners and honor their generous philanthropic support of the Bren School by providing four levels of recognition: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Platinum Partners have demonstrated extraordinary generosity, leadership, and vision by providing transformational gifts and endowments. They receive full benefits of the program. Find out more about the Gold, Silver, and Bronze partnership levels and the benefits of each.
